Pogo Recipe: Faye's Pecan Pie
Makes 1 Pie
Ingredients:
| 1 Cup | Dark Karo® Syrup |
| 1 Cup | Brown Sugar |
| 3 | Large Eggs |
| 1/2 Stick | Margarine |
| 1/8 Tsp | Salt |
| 1 Cup | Chopped Pecans |
| 1/2 Cup | Whole Pecan Halves |
| | |
| 1 | 9" Premade Pie Crust (unbaked) |
Preheat Oven to: 375 Degrees Fahrenheit
Instructions:
- Combine syrup, brown sugar, margarine, and salt in a sauce pan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar has melted and the mixture is well blended.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool somewhat.
- Beat the eggs together in a bowl and then add them to the sauce pan.
- Stir in the chopped pecans.
- Pour this mixture into the pie crust. Cover the edges of the pie crust with aluminum foil to prevent them from burning.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes at 375°F.
- Carefully remove from the oven and arrange pecan halves over the entire surface of the pie.
- Bake for an additional 25-30 minutes at 375°F until a knife inserted halfway between the center and edge of the pie comes out clean.
